Perlemoen Trail

The Perlemoen Trail follows a coastal route from De Dam to Gansbaai, the centre of South Africa’s famous Great White shark cage diving activity. The trail provides fascinating combination of flora, sea life and history. It is famous for its shipwrecks and infamous for its Perlemoen (abalone) poaching! In whale season it is ideal for whale watchers and covers wide open beaches, intimate coves for swimming, sea cliffs with pounding waves and limestone caves. The core is a three day trail with add on options to make it into a five day adventure.
